The St Ives Medieval Faire is committed to supporting the education of local students through living history.
For the two weeks prior to the Faire, trained and accredited educators from Hands on History and Knights for Hire will be conducting two-hour incursions to local schools.
Students will take lead roles to explore stories of everyday life in medieval Europe with replica swords, armour, costumes, and household goods.
Dates available Tuesday 11th September to Thursday 13th September (inclusive)
In the week of the Faire an excursion to the Faire will allow students to experience a sample of Medieval Festival and meet Knights in training.
This year Matt and Bonny will be running interactive performances and hands on experiences from the Wildflower Gardens, with new medieval replicas, new stories and a fully interactive experience for your students.
Knight for Hire has designed their performances with the year 8 history curriculum in mind, covering Knights and Ladies, or Peasants and the church, or even the black death, all with the help of student volunteers to help bring the characters to life, through storytelling and their very own unique form of edutainment. Students (and teachers) will have the opportunity to hold swords, try on outfits Matt will even bring his own suit of armour for kids to try on.
Dates available Monday 17th September to Thursday 20th September (inclusive)
