Dominic Sewell has jousted for 20 years but began his medieval pursuits as a reenactor. He was a founding member of the UK re-enactment group ‘Destrier’ but in 2001 was handed his first lance at a joust at Kenilworth Castle and has been a keen jouster ever since.
With ‘Destrier’ he has represented teams at events held by the Royal Armouries Museum and has even claimed victory at the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Horn Joust, the only joust tournament sanctioned by Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II.
Dominic has successfully merged his passion for jousting with his professional life. His company ‘Historic Equitation’ runs 13th century and 15th century jousts for event organisations in the UK. Dominic is responsible for the only solid lance jousts held in the UK and is now focused on a project that introduces jousting to inner-city children.
